29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of Cobalt and Nickel listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 0.1 and 1 milligrams per cubic meter of air. a. On or about April 25, 2023, and at times prior thereto, in the recycling area, employees were exposed to Cobalt in excess of 0.1 milligrams per cubic meter of air during the recycling process. Three employee's personal 8-hour time-weighted average (8-Hr TWA) exposure to Cobalt were employee a) 0.44 mg/m3. This exceeded the OSHA 8-Hr TWA PEL of 0.1 mg/m3 by 4.4 times. employee b) 0.33 mg/m3. This exceeded the OSHA 8-hr TWA PEL of 0.1 mg/m3 by 3.3 times. employee c) 0.28 mg/m3. This exceeded the OSHA 8-hr TWA PEL of 0.1 mg/m3. b. On or about April 25, 2023, and at times prior thereto, in the recycling area, an employee was exposed to Nickle in excess of 1 milligram per cubic meter of air during the recycling process. An employee's personal 8-hour time-weighted average (8-Hr TWA) exposure to Nickle was 1.3 mg/m3. This exceeded the OSHA 8-Hr TWA PEL of 1 mg/m3 by 1.3 times.
