29 CFR 1910.213(a)(9): All belts, pulleys, gears, shafts, and moving parts shall be guarded in accordance with the specific requirements of 1910.219: a) On or about February 14, 2023, at a workplace located at 210 Maple Street, Denmark, WI in the Ariens Building; the Crosscut Solutions Cut-off Saw CS18PR46Z - 080208 back panel was removed from the machine frame, exposing employees to potential in-running nip point hazards created by the belt and pulley connected to the electric motor. b) On or about February 14, 2023, at a workplace located at 210 Maple Street, Denmark, WI in the Ariens Building; the Crosscut Solutions Cut-off Saw CS18PL4X-080202 back panel was removed from the machine frame, exposing employees to potential in-running nip point hazards created by the belt and pulley connected to the electric motor. c) On or about February 15, 2023, at a workplace located at 210 Maple Street, Denmark, WI in the Box Building; the belt and pulley on the motor for the SawStop table saw were not guarded, exposing employees to potential in-running nip point hazards. d) On or about February 15, 2023, at a workplace located at 210 Maple Street, Denmark, WI in the Veneer Room; the chain and sprockets on the side opposite the operator's station on the Merritt 4360 Veneer Lathe was not guarded to prevent access to the in-running nip point hazards. The guard in place left access openings over 15 inches from the machine enclosure and/or were severely damaged permitting potential access to the nip point hazards. e) On or about February 15, 2023, at a workplace located at 210 Maple Street, Denmark, WI in the Main Cutting Department; unguarded belts and pulleys connected to the motor on the belt conveyor adjacent to the enclosed planer were not guard to prevent potential in-running nip point hazards. f) On or about February 15, 2023, at a workplace located at 210 Maple Street, Denmark, WI in the upstairs unloading area; a pinch hazard created by the belt conveyor and the end roller on the unload conveyor exposed was not guarded. g) On or about February 15, 2023, at a workplace located at 210 Maple Street, Denmark, WI in the CNC Building; the guarded surrounding the belt and pulley on the side of the Porter vertical band saw was pulled away from the saw frame and had large openings that would permit access to the in-running nip points.
