29 CFR 1910.219(c)(3): Guarding vertical and inclined shafting. Vertical and inclined shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform, excepting maintenance runways, shall be enclosed with a stationary casing in accordance with requirements of paragraphs (m) and (o) of this section: On or about January 27, 2023, to February 1, 2023, at an establishment located at 2099 Badgerland Drive in Green Bay, WI, between the Grinding Room and Main Floor; the employer did not provide machine guarding to protect Rendering Operators and other employees from entanglement hazards with inclined, rotating shafts such as, but not limited to, the C1 Conveyor drive shaft that was located above a doorway.
