Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.57(c): Exhaust ventilation system component(s) were not designed, constructed, maintained, or operated to ensure the required protection for employee(s) from air contaminant(s) by maintaining airflow sufficient to gather air contaminants from said equipment or process and/or to convey them to suitable points of safe disposal: On or about June 18, 20202, a gas-powered Honda GX390, model 730G4-H fan used to convey gas vapors away from employees was not used in such a way as to provide protection from hazards arising from the flammability of gas and other ignition sources. This practice created a condition that exposed employees to thermal burns.
