Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005A Hazard: EXPLOSION
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees are exposed to potential fire hazards: a) Building 1125 - There were numerous instances of sliding doors that were not side- hinged or pivoted-swinging type, but not limited to the south wall exit. Among other methods, one feasible method to reduce this hazard is to install exit doors that are side-hinged, in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association 101, Life Safety Code, section 5-2.1.4.1.
