29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks in the following instances: a) On or about March 13, 2024, and at time prior thereto, in the tool room; employees utilized the KBC horizontal metal cutting machine without a guard on the portion of the blade away from the point of operation while cutting raw metal materials. b) On or about March 13, 2024, and at time prior thereto, in the press area; the Multipress #195 was not guarded while being used to form shape raw metal materials. c) On or about March 13, 2024, and at time prior thereto, EPTD/Stampcoat press areas; the Oak Lam Punch Press #30 was not provided with guards to protect all areas of entry to the point of operation not protected by the presence sensing device(s) while processing a batch production of small, uniformed sheet metal parts.
