29 CFR 1910.28(b)(14)(i): The employer must protect each employee on the unprotected working side of a slaughtering facility platform that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level from falling by using guardrail systems, or travel restrain systems: On or about January 25, 2023, at a facility located at 502 E. Linden Street in Abbotsford, WI; Kill Floor employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 8 feet 9 inches when accessing, traversing and working from the platform located at the beginning of the kill line. Employees accessed the platform via a fixed ladder, walked to their positions on the platform, and connected to retractable fall arrest devices.
