Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1):Examination. Electric equipment shall be free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Safety of equipment shall be determined using the following considerations: a. On or about June 29, 2022 and at times prior, the employer did not examine and ensure that electric equipment was free from recognized hazards. The employer did not examine and identify electrical hazards such as but not limited to the missing ground pin of the fan being using on the unloading dock. The following condition resulted in a grounding path that was not permanent, continuous and effective exposing employees to electrical shock hazards. b. On or about June 29, 2022 and at times prior, the employer did not examine and ensure that electric equipment was free from recognized hazards. The employer did not examine and identify electrical hazards such as but not limited to electrical power boxes in the pad area, at the exit end of the oxidizer. Two power boxes were found to have openings that were not effectively closed. The following condition exposed employees to electrical shock hazards. c. On or about June 29, 2022 and at times prior, the employer did not examine and ensure that electric equipment was free from recognized hazards. The employer did not examine and identify electrical hazards such as but not limited to damaged flexible power cord strain relief. On the unloading dock the flexible power cord for the fan was found to have a damaged strain relief. The following condition exposed employees to electrical shock hazards.
