29 CFR 1915.503(a)(2)(i): Before authorizing hot work in a non-designated area the employer did not visually inspect the area where hot work was performed, including adjacent areas to ensure the area was free from fire hazards. (a) Fishing Vessel (FV) Sunset Bay- Reefer Room - On or about June 18th, 2019 and at times prior thereto employees were exposed to fire and explosion while stick welding and grinding in the reefer room with flammable and combustible materials within the space.
