29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(8): Ladders placed in a location where they could be displaced by workplace activities or traffic, such as in passageways, doorways, or driveways, were not secured to prevent accidental displacement. (a) On July 7, 2018, the 12 foot Werner extension ladder in use for sand blasting paint off the walls of Water Clarifier 2 was placed in an area where it could not be secured to prevent it from being displaced during sand blasting to prevent an employee from falling and sustaining a serious injury. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
