29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Projecting shaft ends shall present a smooth edge and end and shall not project more than one-half the diameter of the shaft unless guarded by nonrotating caps or safety sleeves. a. On or about 01/26/2018 in the Fabrication Area, employees were exposed to an unguarded rotating shaft while performing sanding operations on the Jet Belt & Disc Sander. The rotating shaft was 1/2 inch in diameter and projected approximately 1 inch from the machine's body.
