29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about August 25, 2017, the following machinery was inadequately safeguarded at rotating parts, ingoing nip points and points of operation. a. The Jedelshon, Blue Lever and Green Lever slitter machines had 18 inch diameter metal blades that were inadequately guarded. b. The saturation room has two rolling mills that apply molten tar onto fiberglass and cotton bales. The rolling mills had molten asphalt tanks, rotating rollers and rotating projected shaft ends that were inadequately guarded.
