Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.253(b)(4)(iii): Oxygen cylinders in storage were not separated from fuel-gas cylinders or combustible materials (especially oil or grease), a minimum distance of 20 feet (6.1 m) or by a noncombustible barrier at least 5 feet (1.5 m) high having a fire-resistance rating of at least one half hour: a) Maintenance Shop; On or about February 1, 2017 and at times prior thereto the employer exposed employees to fire and explosion hazards in that employees were required to walk and work in the same area where an oxygen cylinder and fuel gas (acetylene) cylinders were stored together without a barrier as required by the standard.
