Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(a): Safety-related work practices shall be employed to prevent electric shock or other injuries resulting from either direct or indirect electrical contacts, when work is performed near or on equipment or circuits which are or may be energized. The specific safety-related work practices shall be consistent with the nature and extent of the associated electrical hazards. On or about 25 August 2016, and on prior dates, the employer did not ensure that appropriate work practices were employed while performing live electrical work at up to 480 volts. Employees were exposed to electrical shock and arc flash/blast injuries when changing circuit breakers in a 480volt panel. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
