29 CFR 1910.244(a)(1)(i): The operator shall make sure that the jack used has a rating sufficient to lift and sustain the load. (a) Facility: Jacks used in the facility were not marked with their load rating. Operators were unable to verify the jack used could handle the intended load and sustain the weight of the vehicle, on or about 8/18/15. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.
