Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.452(c)(2): Tubular welded frames and panels were not braced by cross, horizontal, or diagonal braces, or combination thereof, which would have secured vertical members together laterally. The employer does not ensure that tubular welded frames and panels were braced by cross, horizontal, or diagonal braces, or combination thereof, which would have secured vertical members together laterally. This violation occurred on or about April 15, 2014 when employees were exposed to a fall hazard while doing masonry work from the second level of a scaffold that did not have cross braces. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all scaffolds have cross braces.
