Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.307(c)(2): Equipment was not approved for the combustible properties of the specific dust that will be present: a) Basement Under Truck Receiving at Leg Boot - Employees were exposed to a combustible dust explosion hazard, as a junction box for a Maxi-Tronic process sensor was damaged with the cover-plate unattached, dangling, exposing the junction box's internal wiring. This condition was observed adjacent to areas where significant accumulations of combustible dust had settled. On or about December 20, 2013. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit abatement certification and documentation, required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
