29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposed an employee to injury, was not guarded: (a) On November 20, 2013, at the Price Chopper Store #200 in Excelsior Springs, MO., The employer did not ensure that the unused portion of the Meat Band Saw blade was enclosed or guarded. As a result, employees were exposed to serious cuts and or amputation injuries to the hands and fingers from the unprotected unused portion of the saw blade. Abatement certification is required for this item; use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.
