Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks were being placed in service after the examination showed condition(s) adversely affecting the safety of the vehicle: (a) Yale Forklift - The parking brake did not engage on the Yale forklift, serial number E177B11435T. Employees were exposed to a struck by hazard if the unattended forklift rolled forward down an incline on or about June 5, 2013. (b) Clark Forklift - The left rear steering tire of the Clark forklift, serial number Y635-0028-5396FA was damaged and had a 10 inch long section of tread hanging loose from the outer edge of the wheel which could result in an unstable condition on or about June 5, 2013. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
