29 CFR 1910.307(c): Electrical installations. Equipment, wiring methods, and installations of equipment in hazardous (classified) locations shall be intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location. a. On or about March 21, 2013, in the facility, employee(s) required to perform painting operations were exposed to fire and/or smoke hazards associated with the flammable liquids and the operation of an indoor waste lacquer thinner recycling machine. Electrical equipment including outlets and switches, were not intrinsically safe, approved Class 1 Division 2 hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the Class 1, Division 2 hazardous (classified ) location.
