29 CFR 305 (g)(1)(iv)(A) Flexible cords and cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: a) Building three quality control lab: A VWR hotplate and a Thermo Scientific Super Nova Multiplace heater were powered by a power strip, on or about 10/12/11. b) Warehouse building two research lab "one gallon hood": Mettler Toledo and VWR hot plates were powered by a power strip, on or about 10/12/11. c) Warehouse building two research lab "five gallon hood": IKA mixers were powered by power strips, on or about 10/12/11. d) Warehouse building two boiler room: An extension cord was used to power a pump that operated a chiller, on or about 10/12/11. e) Warehouse building two quality control pre-polymer applications lab: A power strip was used to power a heat gun used with the distillation unit, on or about 10/12/11. f) Warehouse building two quality control pre-polymer applications lab: An extension cord was used to power a power strip that operated a distillation unit, on or about 10/12/11. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
