Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:10/13/10 Condition:An employee working within a trench box was exposed to struck-by/crushed-by injuries while a Caterpillar Excavator was performing digging activities inside the same trench box. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to remove employees from the trench box while the excavator is digging inside the trench box.ch
