Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to relocate the dust collection systems at a minimum of 20 feet from an area, routinely occupied by personnel, which means a lunch room, meeting place, or any routinely staffed work station. Also, the dust collection systems, must by located at least 20 feet from any means of egress and maintain at least 20 feet from each other. The collected dust must by removed daily or more frequently to ensure efficient operation. Installation, operation, and maintenance of the enclosureless dust collection systems must meet all applicable standards including, but not limited to, NFPA 664. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
