29 CFR 1910.178(a)(6): The user shall see that all nameplates and markings are in place and are maintained in a legible condition. Throughout the facility The employer is failing to ensure that forklifts in the facility have a data plate that is legible posted on the forklifts, including, but not limited to the Case 586C forklift. This makes it impossible for operators to know the specifications and restrictions of the equipment creating the potential for an operator to attempt to lift loads that exceed the capabilities of the forklift. Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.
