29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) On or about March 20, 2025, at the above addressed jobsite, employees installing storm sewer line in an excavation with an approximate maximum depth of six (6) feet eight (8) inches and length of forty-seven (47) feet were working outside of the installed twenty-four (24) foot long trench shield, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated with cave-ins.
