29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(ii): Flexible cords may be used only in continuous lengths without splice or tap. Hard-service cord and junior hard-service cord No. 14 and larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced. a) On or about 09/09/2024, employer did not ensure that employees using a pendant attached to a Budgit 1/2 ton hoist on printing press 12 had a flexible cord continuous in length in that a section of the cable jacket directly above the pendent was missing and exposing the insulation of the conductors to damage of the 120V cable.
