29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed. (a) On or about April 25, 2024, at the jobsite located at W193 N4914 Tea Tree Dr., Menomonee Falls, WI, the Werner Extension ladder erected on the East side of the structure, being used for access to the 7:12 pitched roof, did not extend at least three (3) feet above the landing edge, and/or was not secured to the structure when it was not sufficiently extended. This exposed employee(s) accessing the roof to a fall hazard of approximately 13 feet. The JC Siding, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1674359, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/11/2024, with respect to a workplace located at 9714 Bergamont Drive, Franklin, WI 53132.
