29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) At Witzco Challenger Trailers, located at 6101 McIntosh Road Sarasota, FL, in the Main Shop at the BIG SHEAR: On or about April 12, 2024, the employer exposed workers to caught-in and caught-between hazards, in that the employer failed to place machine guarding on the ingoing and outgoing nip points of the shear blade. b) At Witzco Challenger Trailers, located at 6101 McIntosh Road Sarasota, FL, in the Main Shop at the LITTLE SHEAR: On or about April 12, 2024, the employer exposed workers to caught-in and caught-between hazards, in that the employer failed to place machine guarding on the ingoing and outgoing nip points of the shear blade. c) At Witzco Challenger Trailers, located at 6101 McIntosh Road Sarasota, FL, in the Main Shop at the PRESS BRAKE: On or about April 12, 2024, the employer exposed workers to caught-in and caught-between hazards, in that the employer failed to place machine guarding on the point of operation. d) At Witzco Challenger Trailers, located at 6101 McIntosh Road Sarasota, FL, in the Parts Shop at the IRON WORKER: On or about April 12, 2024, the employer exposed workers to caught-in and caught-between hazards, in that the employer failed to place machine guarding on the point of operation of the three working ingoing and outgoing nip points of the shear blade.
