29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: At a worksite located at 12149 Hartville Road, Licking, MO: The employer failed to protect employees from struck-by hazards to the eye(s) or face; including but not limited to flying particles and liquid chemicals. This was most recently demonstrated on or about October 25, 2023, and at times prior to, when: a) Employees at the edgers/performing edging of wood boards were exposed to flying particles and were not protected by appropriate eye or face protection. b) Employees at chop saws/performing cutting of wood boards were exposed to flying particles and were not protected by appropriate eye or face protection. c) Employees at the pallet station/performing fabrication of wood pallets were exposed to flying particles and were not protected by appropriate eye or face protection while wearing prescription glasses.
