29 CFR 1910.179(n)(2)(ii):The employer did not ensure that the load was attached to the load block hook by means of slings or other approved devices: a) Anodize Plating Line, Welch Allyn Inc., 4341 State Street Road, Skaneateles Falls, NY 13153, on or about July 13, 2023, an employee was exposed to struck by hazards and acid/caustic splash hazard from falling objects due to use of an unapproved lifting device. Lifting device was homemade by the employee. b) Barrel Plating Line, Welch Allyn Inc., 4341 State Street Road, Skaneateles Falls, NY 13153, on or about July 13, 2023, an employee was exposed to struck by hazards and acid/caustic splash hazard from falling objects due to use of an unapproved lifting device. Lifting device did not have any labels or capacity markings. Abatement certification is required.
