29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. (a) Jobsite: 9990 Gantry Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115 - On or about June 16, 2023: The employer did not ensure that the rotating part of the machine was guarded to prevent employee exposure from such hazard. An employee engaged in polishing metals on the Machine Tool Division MSC 16-50G GAP Bed Lathe in the area of the unguarded chuck was exposed to the rotating parts.
