29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a)Global Harvest Foods, LLC 201 at North Richmond Street, Roscoe, SD 57471: On or about and at times prior to April 12, 2023, the employer did not ensure the in-running nip point involving the powered drive pulley on the Thiele Conveyor located between the bagger and palletizer machines in the production area was properly guarded. This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards associated with the unguarded head pulley on the conveyor.
