29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(5)(i):Non-self-supporting ladders were not used at an angle such than the horizontal distance from the top support to the foot of the ladder way approximately one-quarter of the working length of the ladder (the distance along the ladder between the foot and the top support). a) On or about 04/21/2022, at 4830 NW 65 Avenue Fort Lauderdale FL 33319, employees engaged in housekeeping activities, using a Werner 28-ft Type 1A non-conductive fiberglass extension ladder to access the second floor, were exposed to fall hazards. The ladder was set up where the horizontal distance (6.3 feet) exceeded one-quarter of the working length of the ladder (12.25 feet).
