Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv): Flexible cords and/ or cables were used for purposes prohibited by paragraphs (A) through (F) of 29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv). a. On or about February 10, 2022, two 12-inch Vevor portable fans used in the Old Firing Room for exhaust ventilation were energized using extension cords in lieu of fixed wiring. b. On or about February 10, 2022 in the New Firing Room, the manufacturer-supplied power cord for a Pelonis portable heater fan was too short to reach the nearest electric outlet and therefore a relocatable power tap was used as an extension cord in lieu of fixed wiring. c. On or about February 10, 2022 throughout the Production Areas, Lasko box fans were mounted to frames that also supported four pleated air filters. The fans were plugged into extension cords in lieu of fixed wiring. In addition, the extension cords were zip-tied to the ceiling.
