29 CFR 1926.850(a): An engineering survey was not performed by a competent person to determine the condition of the framing, floors, walls and adjacent structures as well as the possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations. The employer shall have in writing evidence that such a survey has been performed. (a) Jobsite located at 2400 E Huntingdon St, Philadelphia, PA: The employer did not ensure that a written engineering survey was conducted by a competent person, in accordance with this standard, to determine the structural integrity of a 3-story building undergoing demolition, thereby exposing employees to struck-by hazards. Condition noted on or about May 17, 2021.
