29 CFR 1910.107(g)(5): 29 CFR 1910.107(g)(5): The use of solvents for cleaning operations was not restricted to those having flashpoints greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit; or for cleaning spray nozzles and auxiliary equipment, solvents with flashpoints less than those normally used in spray operations were used: a) Spray Finishing: Employees engaged in spray finishing, use lacquer thinner with a flashpoint of 3.2 degrees fahrenheit, to clean spray gun nozzles and other auxiliary equipment. The employer did not ensure that solvents used for cleaning spray nozzles and other auxiliary equipment was restricted to flashpoints greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, on or about 2/5/20.
