29 CFR 1910.184(i)(9)(iii): Synthetic web sling(s) with snags, punctures, tears, or cuts were not immediately removed from service: a. On or about January 10, 2020 and times prior thereto, at the maintenance shop, the employer did not ensure that damaged synthetic web slings used for lifting of equipment at the central gantry crane (S/N: 141583-L-2-1) were removed from service, exposing employees to struck-by hazards. Damages such as but not limited to fraying, tears and missing identification tags were observed.
