29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: location: 805 Mamaroneck Ave., Mamaroneck, NY 10543, exterior of building on or about: 4/9/19 a) Employees gained access to and from the tubular welded frame scaffolding using an extension ladder that extended only 1 foot above the upper landing surface. location: 805 Mamaroneck Ave., Mamaroneck, NY 10543, exterior of building on or about: 4/9/19 b) Employees gained access to and from the tubular welded frame scaffolding using a Little Giant metal ladder that extended only a few inches above the upper landing surface. NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection casefile, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19.
