29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a)New Angus, LLC dba DemKota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street South West, Aberdeen, SD 57401: On or about and at times prior to April, 4 2018, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from a pinch-point hazard associated with a hydraulic piston on the up-puller machine. This condition exposed employees to a pinch point hazard. (b)New Angus, LLC dba DemKota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street South West, Aberdeen, SD 57401: On or about and at times prior to April, 4 2018, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from a caught-in hazard associated with an unguarded auger on the barn rotor screen. This condition exposed employees to the hazard of caught-in by an auger.
