29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about March 6, 2018, the employer failed to ensure that there was adequate machine guarding on the GLP line where the lids are applied to the tops of cans containing product. The barrier guard is not secured and can be easily removed while the process is in operation. b) On or about June 15, 2018, the employer failed to ensure that there was adequate machine guarding on the Solvent/Cement line where the lids are applied to the tops of cans containing product. The barrier guard is not secured and can be easily removed while the process is in operation.
