Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.454(a): The employer did not have each employee who performed work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards. This requirement is applicable to general industry work per 29 CFR 1910.27: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by and fall hazards while performing work from mobile scaffolds. This was most recently documented at 2314 E Hwy 30, Grand Island, NE 68802 inside the areas of the trailer service shop on or about February 2, 2018 and at times prior. Employees had not received training on the safe use and recognition of hazards associated with working from mobile scaffolds while performing activities within the facility.
