29 CFR 1910.106(e)(2)(iv)(d): Flammable liquids were not drawn from or transferred into vessels, containers, or portable tanks within a building only through a closed piping system, from safety cans, by means of a device drawing through the top, or from a container or portable tanks by gravity through an approved self-closing valve: a) Production (Warehouse): Employees are required to dispense from a 55-gallon drum of a category 1 flammable liquid (Isopropyl Alcohol 100% with a flashpoint of 53.1 Fahrenheit) into smaller size containers for cleaning purposes. The employer did not ensure that an approved self-closing valve was installed on the 55-gallon drum of isopropyl alcohol, where it was dispensed from, on or about 12/12/17 and 12/19/18.
