(Unless the snaphook is a locking type and designed for the following connections, snaphooks shall not be engaged:) 29 CFR 1926.502(e)(8)(i): directly to webbing, rope or wire rope; On Dec. 1, 2017, located on the south side of a commercial floor structure, an employee was observed anchoring a 50 foot vertical lifeline, being used as a lanyard, back into itself on the nearest top plate while performing framing work. Potential fall heights were approximately 25 feet (to ground below) and 10 feet (to next lower level).
