Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the employees were exposed to electrical hazards. a) At the bulk tank room, on or about 10/24/2018: A light switch box did not have a cover, exposing employees to accidental contact with exposed energized parts. b) At the maintenance shop, on or about 10/24/2017: The electrical cord to a Craftman Table Saw was damaged and had exposed live parts. Amongst other feasible means of abatement: To abate the hazards appropriately cover energized parts, and ensure strain relief at the cord end to comply with the National Electrical Code 70E, 2015, Article 245, which states that cover plates and cords shall be maintained, such that there are no missing cover plates, nor damage exposing live parts.
