Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.272(g)(4): The employer did not provide equipment for rescue operations, which was specifically suited for the bin, silo, or tank being entered: The employer is failing to provide a means of rescue for employees entering grain bins associated with grain bin cleaning activities. This was most recently documented, on 09/14/17, at the establishment located at 1892 US Hwy 83, Sublette, Kansas. The employer did not provide and ensure rescue equipment such as but not limited to hoisting and winching equipment was readily available prior to employees being permitted to enter into a grain to remove grain from the bottom of the bin.
