29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. On or about 02/28/2017 in the install shop, employees were exposed to amputation hazard, in that, the 5 head Gang drill press did not have cup guards while employees drilled holes in metal parts. b. In or about 02/28/2017 in the install shop, employees were exposed to an amputation hazard, in that, the Roll- in- band, band saw Model SE 8590 did not have an adjustable guard when used to cut metal parts.
