29 CFR 1915.1001(j)(2)(i): The employer did not establish an equipment room or area that was adjacent to the regulated area, for the decontamination of employees and their equipment, which consisted of an area covered by a impermeable drop cloth on the floor/deck or horizontal working surface: a) On or about August 27, 2016, in the area damaged during a collision at level A of the floating dry-dock, employees were instructed to conduct Class III asbestos work and the employer failed an equipment room or area for the decontamination of employees and their equipment was established before the employees start to remove a section of duct covered with thermal systems insulation, exposing employees working in adjacent areas to asbestos airborne concentrations that may have exceeded the permissible exposure limit (PEL).
