Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 005 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(i): Unused openings in boxes, raceways, auxiliary gutters, cabinets, equipment cases, or housings shall be effectively closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment. On or about 23 August 2016, the employer failed to cover unused openings on the 480 volt electrical enclosure near Press #12. Employees were exposed to inadvertent contact with energized parts and fire hazards while utilizing the electrical outlet that is located in the enclosure. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
