29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees hands were exposed to hazardous condition(s): Powder coating area. On or about July 13, 2016, and at times prior thereto, hand protection was not required to be worn during electrostatic spraying of powder coatings. Valspar powder coatings containing Triglycidy isocyanuarate (TGIC) were used by the employer, exposing employees to skin absorption of TGIC. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure employees are required to use appropriate hand protection during powder coating operations to protect employees from hazardous conditions.
