Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to possible burns and amputations during the loading of Hoffman Devices: a.) Ramac Services Corp., Yakima Training Center - The employer had not provided adequate training to employees who are required to load the Hoffman Device. Abatement note: One feasible and acceptable method, among others, of correcting this hazard is to provide training to employees on the loading and operation of the Hoffman Device, including details on voltage, grounding techniques, and misfires.
